Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.

New Community Stadium

Locals are being invited to find out more about plans for a new community stadium in Leamington.

The stadium will be located at Myton Green and is being proposed to be the new home ground for Leamington FC, and the relocation of the athletics facilities from Edmondscote to the same area.

Those interested in seeing the plans and chatting to the project team can attend a drop-in session at Myton Gardens Primary School, Fusiliers Way in Warwick on Thursday 14 May from 6.30pm to 8pm.

There will also be a representative from Warwickshire Property Development Group who will be able to share plans for the new local centre, including a shop and nursery.

The plans, submitted by Crustworthy Pizza, regard Unit 19, at Victoria Business Centre on Neilston Street, which is currently being used for storage.

The planning application stated the pizzeria aimed to offer a community-focused atmosphere, accommodating up to 25 customers.

Permission has now also been granted for developers to install an extractor fan to the rear of the site.

Digital kiosk at Leamington Railway Station refused

Plans to install a new digital communication kiosk at Leamington Railway Station have been refused.

The kiosk, which aimed to modernise public phone infrastructure while adding emergency and digital services, was denied the go ahead by the Council on 1 May.

In the decision letter, the Local Planning Authority (LPA) concluded: "the proposal would cause less than substantial harm to the significance of the adjacent listed building and conservation area, with the proposed kiosk considered to result in additional visual clutter that would fail to preserve or enhance the character and appearance of the streetscene."

There were no public responses including objections or supporting comments regarding the plans.
