A multi-million-pound renovation is set to transform an historic coaching inn in Leamington town centre.
It comes after the hospitality group, Heartwood Collection, acquired its first pub with rooms in Warwickshire, with the takeover of The Angel Hotel in Leamington.
The group will roll out the multi-million-pound renovation at the historic coaching inn before reopening in summer 2027 and officially joining Heartwood's portfolio of 36 sites across the UK.
Once the refurbishment is complete, the property will become The Angel Inn and will be home to 47 bedrooms, with its bar and dining areas transformed and new menus introduced.
The garden will also undergo a number of enhancements.
Richard Ferrier, CEO of Heartwood Collection, said: "We are delighted to have acquired The Angel Hotel, a landmark property with more than 200 years of history at the heart of this vibrant town.
"We have been looking for the right opportunity in Leamington Spa for several years and are excited to bring The Angel into the Heartwood family. We look forward to restoring this historic inn and welcoming guests in summer 2027."
The hotel was previously owned by the Clifford family, who first acquired the property in 1992.
The Angel's main Grade-II listed building dates back to 1818 and is situated on Regent Street, close to Jephson Gardens and the Pump Rooms.
Following the renovation and repositioning, The Angel Inn will sit alongside Heartwood Inns' two existing pubs in the county, The Black Swan in Henley-in-Arden and The Red Lion in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Heartwood also operates 13 Brasserie Blanc restaurants across the UK.
