A season of sparkle is set to begin in Warwick District, as communities come together next month for a variety of light switch-on events.

The fun begins in Leamington on Sunday 16 November for the Big Lights Switch On, with a Christmas market from 10am.

The stage outside the Town Hall will feature music from 1pm and live entertainment from 2pm to 6pm.

Leamington's lights will be switched on at 5.30pm by the Mayor of Royal Leamington Spa Councillor Ruggy Singh and Father Christmas himself.\

Parking will be free in all Warwick District Council off-street car parks in Leamington from 8am on Sunday 16 November to support the event. On-street parking charges will still apply.

Portfolio Holder for Arts, Culture and Economy, Cllr Ella Billiald said:"We're delighted to deliver these events on behalf of the District's towns, providing an entertaining space for friends and families to come together and celebrate the festive season. I would like to thank our Business Support and Events team, the Town Councils and our many partners that work tirelessly each year to make these events a great success.

"Not only do these events provide a sense of community and belonging, they are also a great support for our local businesses throughout the Christmas period. We look forward to welcoming you to our town centres for a season of celebration."
