A Midlands-based wild running event series, is teaming up with the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust to help its participants give back to the wild spaces that let them 'run wild.'

Warwickshire Wildlife Trust is the new charity partner for the Spring and Summer Wolf Run events.

The charity's mission is to 'protect Warwickshire's wildlife and help others take meaningful action by creating a society where nature matters.'

The partnership will be underpinned by the notion, 'Run Wild. Give Back.', encouraging its community to experience, appreciate and protect the great outdoors.  

Wolf Run's mud-filled events see more than 25,000 participants, swimming in wild rivers, crawling through mud and running through picturesque woodland trails. The Spring Wolf is set to take place from 25 to 26 April at The Offchurch Bury in Leamington, followed by Summer Wolf on 13 to 14 June at Stanford Hall in Lutterworth.

Charlie Moreton, Founder of Wolf Run, said: "One of our missions has always been to bring people back into nature, one muddy step at a time. We believe that when people experience the countryside in a powerful, physical way, they develop a deeper love for it and a stronger desire to protect it. 

"I believe that having Warwickshire Wildlife Trust as our charity partner will help push that appreciation of our natural surroundings and the wildlife that depends on it, and it ensures that as a community we give something back."

The wild running event series was created by local brothers, Charlie and Will Moreton, who grew up on Warwickshire farmland and developed a deep love of the countryside and wildlife from an early age.

Wolf Run is now celebrating its 15-year anniversary having been created in 2011, giving participants that same opportunity to experience nature and encouraging everyone to care for the wild spaces they run through. 

June's Summer Wolf will host a wave of runners from the conservation charity, made up of their team members and supporters raising funds to protect these wild spaces and help wildlife flourish. A £1 donation option will also be available for all runners during sign up to contribute to the events charity total. 

Warwickshire Wildlife Trust will also have an on-the-ground presence at both Spring and Summer events, with stalls in the event village where people can find out more about the charity's work for wildlife across Warwickshire.
