UPDATE: Works to demolish council's former HQ continue

Works to demolish the district council's former headquarters and turn the land into homes are well underway, with part of the building now completely knocked down.
Warwick District Council (WDC) transferred its Riverside House offices to Homes England at the start of April, weeks after planning permission for the redevelopment of the site was approved.
The local authority's planning committee gave the green light to the project in February, which will see the Milverton Hill site transformed into 74 homes.
As of our last visit, on 30 May, part of the building still stood,
Full approval was also given for the creation of a new public park in the location of Edmondscote Athletics Track and Field.
Homes England will create an "enlarged public space" along the riverside at Elizabeth Park once the athletics track is moved.
"The new park will provide local residents with areas of wetland, a wildflower meadow and a new woodland as well as an extension of the riverside path, exercise trail and cycle track," WDC said.
Some "minor vegetation clearance" has taken place on site, and now demolition specialists are on site, clearing away the old buildings.
Riverside House had been boarded up over the past few months to prevent "break-ins and unwanted anti-social behaviour".
The local authority vacated Riverside House in Leamington Spa in March 2024.
WDC said the move from Riverside House could save taxpayers up to £250,000 per year.
