Luxury care home in Warwickshire celebrates its first birthday

A luxury care home in Warwickshire celebrated its first birthday in style this week.
On Tuesday, 19 August, friends and family gathered at Oakley Grange Care Home to celebrate the occasion. Guests enjoyed a barbecue, live music, and more.
Joining the celebration were Cllr Jackie D'Arcy, the Mayor of Warwick, and Cllr Adrian Barton, the Mayor of Whitnash.
During her speech, Cllr Jackie D'Arcy said: "This is my first visit to Oakley Grange, but as soon as I stepped inside the door, I felt vibes of homeliness and warmth.
"Homes like Oakley Grange are a vital part of our community, here in our magnificent county town of Warwick.
"You help represent the heart of the community and community support. It is great to know that homes like this enable people to live as independently as they can in a friendly, supportive, familiar environment.
"This is possible because of the dedication and hard work of the team working here. Of course, where would we be without the support of families and friends who also help make this possible for everyone.
"Happy first birthday, Oakley Grange."
Speaking to Nub News, Mayor Cllr Adrian Barton, who is serving his third term as mayor, shared: "Oakley Grange is a lovely home. There are many benefits here, including its proximity to local amenities.
"It's not far from the shops, it's a safe place to go for a walk, and you're also so close to Warwick, where you've got Warwick Castle, Leamington Spa, and, of course, the best town of all, Whitnash. It's in the heart of the community, and it's great to come here."
He further added that Oakley Grange has only been open for a year, so not many people know about it.
However, he said it was a lovely care home and that "it would be the first choice for me."
This was Cllr Barton's second visit to the care home, the first being when the community choir, the Big Sing, visited.
Before viewing the home for the first time, he said: "All I knew before I came was that it was quite close to the very popular fish and chip shop, Harvey Catch, and not far from Whitnash, Tachbrook, or Leamington."
He continued: "When I came, I had a guided tour, which was just amazing.
"We got to see the second floor and could look in every room, including the cinema and the dining rooms, where there were three-course meals.
"So yes, it's just a really impressive place."
Without community-minded partners like them, we would not be able to provide clickbait-free news to the people of Warwick.
