Following its temporary closure, Leamington Spa Art Gallery and Museum has announced it is set to reopen this month.

This follows its closure at the end of May, due to "unforeseen circumstances."

The Art Gallery and Museum team shared that it will reopen on Tuesday, 17 June, and is excited to welcome visitors back with its brand-new exhibition, A Different View: Women Artists in the Collection, alongside its much-loved permanent displays in the main house and museum.

The launch of the exhibition was set to take place on 30 May, but was postponed due to the closure.

Essential roof works are expected to continue, meaning some items from the permanent collection have been placed into temporary storage for protection.

The gallery explained that, in their place, it is making the most of the space to offer an engaging programme of events and activities for visitors of all ages.

It added: "While the disruption is temporary, this vital work will ensure the building and the remarkable collections it houses can be enjoyed by future generations.

"Preserving the fabric of the museum now means we can continue to share exhibitions, history, and creativity for many years to come.

"We're committed to keeping the gallery open and vibrant while repairs continue over the coming months."

Although some disruption may still occur, changes and updates will be made promptly via the gallery's website and social media channels.

The gallery team has thanked individuals for their patience and support and is looking forward to "welcoming you back very soon."
