Shop floor to become flats

A ground-floor shop in a Grade II listed building on Radford Road, Leamington, is set to be converted into two one-bedroom flats.

Planned changes are minimal to preserve its heritage, including replacing the shopfront with a bay window and removing side doors.

The basement will remain unused, and exterior adjustments aim to enhance the building's visual harmony with its surroundings.

Officials from the District Conservation Team, and Environmental Health raised no objections to the plans, with Leamington Spa Town Council providing no comments.

Plans submitted for toilet facility at historic church

Plans have been submitted to install a fully accessible, freestanding wooden toilet at the historic St Gregory's Church in Offchurch, Leamington Spa.

The Grade II-listed Norman church, dating back to Saxon times, needs the facility to support services, concerts, and exhibitions.

A previously approved 2015 plan was redesigned to improve wheelchair access and reduce visual impact, including a ramp and smaller footprint.

Construction will be carefully managed to protect heritage assets, with an archaeologist present and no physical alterations to the church itself.

Plans for 140 new homes in Radford Semele revealed

Plans for 140 homes in Radford Semele, situated on the outskirts of Leamington Spa, have been revealed.

Taylor Wimpey Strategic Land has submitted a scheme to Warwick District Council, which would convert rural land off Southam Road into homes.

Before a full planning application is submitted, the developer has asked the council whether an 'environmental impact assessment' is needed before the plans can progress.

Warwick District Council said at the time the benefits would be "demonstrably outweighed" by the "significant landscape harm" that would be caused.
