A team of dedicated volunteers departed from Warwick Services as part of the latest humanitarian mission delivering urgent aid to Ukraine.

The mission, which took place on Friday, 11 July, at 7.00am, marks the successful handover of vehicles numbers 46, 47, and 48, two ambulances and a Range Rover, all now en route to support civilians and medics in the frontline zones of Ukraine.

This cross-border mission, led by the Belveder charity and supported by LKQ Euro Car Parts, brought together an exceptional team of volunteers, including Hon. Anthony Cleary OBE, former High Court judge (7th convoy,) David Blick, Warwickshire Gin Company (4th trip), Pal Sanghera JP, Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire, Simon Miesegaes, Deputy Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire, David Owen JP and Sean McGovern, Senior Coroner for Coventry and Warwickshire.

After travelling over 1,040 miles (1,675 km), the team reached Leżajsk, Poland , on Sunday, July 13, where they were warmly welcomed by Gmina Leżajsk and the local folk group Zoski, who greeted the drivers with heartfelt hospitality, music, and appreciation. The final leg of the journey will be carried out by Caritas, which will deliver the vehicles across the border into Ukraine.

Hon. Anthony Cleary OBE said: "Another successful convoy to Ukraine, meeting our brother charity on the Poland/Ukraine border for the final handover of the vehicles. Two ambulances and a Range Rover — which is more nimble and used to extract wounded personnel who are under attack.

"This expedition brings us to just under 50 vehicles delivered since our first endeavour. Each driver is conscious that this is the least we can do to keep the flame burning,"

The journey wasn't without challenges.

Near Ghent, Belgium, one ambulance suffered a flat tyre.

Thanks to quick thinking by Pal Sanghera, who used Google Maps to locate a nearby tyre repair garage, the team soon found help.

Inside, he overheard the owner speaking Punjabi to his son — a lucky coincidence that opened the door to heartfelt generosity.

The garage owner, Mr Khan, and his son stayed after hours to replace the tyre and check the others, turning a moment of stress into a reminder that shared humanity knows no borders.

Pal Sanghera JP, Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire, added: "It was an honour and a privilege to be part of the team which delivered two ambulances and a Range Rover to Poland as aid for Ukraine.

"All vehicles were full of medical and other supplies.

"On our journey, we met many wonderful and supportive people who helped us on our way. On arrival, we were royally treated by the local group and humbled by their lavish demonstration of appreciation."

Belveder extends its deepest gratitude to LKQ Euro Car Parts for generous funding support, Ukrainian Medical Charity and Nigel Strickland for loading and logistics and to all community members, donors, and supporters who continue to make these missions possible.

The volunteers returned safely to the UK on Monday, having delivered not only vehicles but also a powerful message of compassion and international cooperation.
