Leamington Spa North Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out a drink driving operation were numerous vehicles were stopped due to how they were driving.

The operation called (Op Limit) took place in Leamington last night (3 December).

One driver was caught without a licence and insurance.

Their vehicle was seized and they have since been reported.

However nobody was driving under the influence.

Leamington Spa North Safer Neighbourhood Team shared: "Think of it like trying to play football without boots or a ball – you're not going to get very far, and you'll definitely get sent off!"

It further shared "the message is serious:: drink or drug driving kills. It's one of the Fatal four causes of death and serious injury on our roads, which are:

• Speeding
• Not wearing a seatbelt
• Using a mobile phone at the wheel
• Drink/drug driving

"We're glad nobody was under the influence this time, but we'll keep running operations like this to make sure our roads stay safe.
