A popular Leamington café has launched a crowdfunding campaign to support its upcoming move to a new location this summer.

Owner of Lola Coffee and Wine, Katie Jensen, launched a crowdfunding page on 5 May, which will run for six weeks.

Funds raised will support the store's move from its current location on Augusta Place to Regent Street in Leamington.

Lola will be moving into the space of the former fish shop, Regency Fish, which went on the market on Christmas Eve last year.

Jensen said: "It's an honour to be able to take over that space and continue that sense of local important support, community vibes.

"This is the perfect spot."

The bigger space will enable the cafe and wine bar to offer slightly more than Lola's current Augusta Place location, including additional seating and a dedicated family-friendly area at the back for parents and young children.

Customers can show their support by using the crowdfunder to pre-purchase items like pastries, lunch, and even a year-long coffee subscription, which will support the move.

It also includes a £10 donation option that earns donors a place on the wall of the new shop, in a mural painted by a local artist.

The Lola team encouraged people to support the cause, sharing on social media: "Please, if you can, donate, share, tell your friends, it's going live for six weeks, can we do it?"

"You ARE Lola, and we can't wait to do this movie together."

The campaign has already received support from neighbouring businesses.

CORE, which also recently introduced some changes to its store, commented: "A great move guys! I'm sure that Lola will thrive on Regent Street, and we very much look forward to welcoming you! Pop over the road if you need anything."

A Good Catch on Regent Street added: "So glad you are coming even closer to us, best wishes and see you on Monday, neighbour."

Peaches, also on Regent Street, wrote: "Amazing news! If we can do anything to help with the move, give us a shout!"
