After appealing for support from customers, popular Leamington cafe, Lola, has reached its fundraising goal, supporting plans for its relocation this summer.

Owner Katie Jensen launched a JustGiving campaign on 5 May to help fund the coffee and wine bar's move from its current home on Augusta Place to Regent Street.

The new location will be the former fish shop, Regency Fish, which went on the market on Christmas Eve last year.

At the end of last week, the campaign surpassed its initial £12,500 target, with a total of £13,385 raised by supporters.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Jensen expressed her gratitude: "Every single one of you who has contributed, shared, popped in and said hello & good luck—your support has meant EVERYTHING. I can't actually believe that 284 of you decided to put your money into our hopes and dreams.

"I give you my word we will spend the next years at Lola trying our best to bring you consistently delicious coffee, food and treats—and more importantly, be a special and reliable part of this incredible community.

"Thanks for choosing us, Leamington. I hope we make you proud."

With the initial goal met, the campaign target was extended to £17,000, which would help to elevate the new space even further.

Additional funds will go towards enhancing the rear area with more toys and private hire options, expanding the menu, and offering the venue for evening pop-up events.

Speaking on the move, Jensen expressed: "It's an honour to be able to take over that space and continue that sense of local support and community vibes.

"This is the perfect spot."

The new location will offer expanded seating and a dedicated family-friendly area, creating a more versatile and welcoming environment than the current Augusta Place venue.

As part of the crowdfunding rewards, supporters could pre-purchase items such as pastries, lunches, and even a year-long coffee subscription.

A £10 donation also earned donors a spot on a mural in the new shop, created by a local artist.

Encouraging further support, the Lola team shared online: "Please, if you can, donate, share, tell your friends. It's live for six weeks—can we do it?

"You ARE Lola, and we can't wait to do this move together."

The crowdfunder closed yesterday (Sunday, 15 June 2025).
