Warwickshire not-for-profit organisations struggling with costs could get help through the council's funding scheme.

Applications for Warwickshire County Council's opened today (Wednesday 2 September).

Grants for up to £3,000 are available for local projects which can provide practical help such as food and household essentials, access to services, financial guidance, health and wellbeing support or school holiday activities.

Jo Whitten from Chase Meadow Community Centre commented: "The grant we received enabled us to provide vital support to families facing financial hardship during the winter months.

"At a time when many households were struggling with increased costs, this helped ease some of the pressure and ensured local children could experience the joy of Christmas.

"The funding made a real difference to our community, and we would encourage other organisations to apply, as these grants can have a significant impact on the lives of local residents."

Last year 20 local organisations made successful applications for funding through the scheme these included;

• Chase Meadow Community Centre, who provided Christmas food hampers and gifts for children who might otherwise go without.

• Bubbenhall Village Hall, who were able to continue their Cosy Café warm hub, offering advice and support to the local community.

• SYDNI Community Centre, whose Warm and Well Hub, weekly project offers free lunch and social support to local people facing cost of living challenges.

Cllr Jim Sinnott Portfolio Holder for Safer, Active and Healthier Communities added:"We are very pleased to have been able to reintroduce this important scheme. These grants can help organisations who are at the heart of our communities to reach out and target support to those who really need it.

"From the feedback we have received this funding boost can make a real difference."

Applications for the Cost-of-Living Fund can be made on the Warwick District Council website.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 30 September 2026.
