Police have uncovered a 47-plant cannabis grow hidden behind a series of doors beneath a Leamington nail bar.

Officers from Warwick and Leamington Safer Neighbourhood Teams visited a house on Grosvenor Road yesterday (September 16) after receiving reports of a possible cannabis grow at the property.

During the visit, officers discovered the electricity supply had been bypassed, along with equipment associated with cannabis cultivation in the loft and a large bag of cannabis.

Police then visited a nail bar on Regent Street linked to the owners of the property.

Officers said they discovered a door which appeared out of place. Behind it was another door, followed by a thin wall.

Police said they could hear the sound of fans and lighting coming from behind the wall.

After gaining access, officers discovered a cannabis growing operation containing 47 plants, lit by bright grow lights.

Four people have since been arrested on suspicion of cannabis production and supply, as well as offences relating to the theft of electricity. Enquiries remain ongoing.

Leamington Police added that anyone concerned about suspected drug activity in homes or businesses in their area can report their concerns to officers.
