Whitnash has been named one of the best places to live in the country.

Of 1,450 locations profiled by property finder company Garrington, the Warwickshire town came in at number eight.

Ranked as 16th in last year's edition, Whitnash received the highest marks for heritage and culture out of the other top 20 places, with a score of 729.

It also scored an impressive 365 points in the category of natural beauty.

The rankings come in Garrington's annual marketing report for England and Wales which ranks cities, towns and villages on measures covering five categories.

These categories are natural environment, wellbeing, heritage/culture, schools, employment and connectivity and house price quality and value.

Garrington also lists the average family home cost and average sales price change across the last 12 months in each settlement.

According to the report, the average house price in Whitnash is currently £544,632.
