By Nadia Sayed 23rd Oct 2026
Locals are being warned after a series of 'spoof' phone calls impersonating police officers.
Warwickshire Police has issued a warning to individuals to be careful when answering certain calls, including suspected 'spoof' calls on an 01926 number that used to belong to the force.
Police also advised individuals to warn vulnerable friends or family members to be cautious when answering these calls.
Those who are in doubt about the authenticity of a caller claiming to be from the police are advised to hang up and call 101. "No genuine police officer or staff member will take issue with you doing this," shared Warwickshire Police.
Individuals who receive a fraudulent call should report it to Action Fraud as soon as possible.
