Thirteen individuals undertook a 13,000-foot skydive at Hinton Skydive Centre in Northamptonshire, all in support of The Esther Project — a Leamington-based initiative dedicated to providing life-changing support for vulnerable women across Warwickshire.

The event took place earlier this month (Saturday, 12 and Sunday 13 July 2025).

The Esther Project is a gender-specific service supporting women facing mental health challenges, domestic abuse, addiction, homelessness, or reintegration after prison.

Through a seven-bedroom supported accommodation home, weekly drop-in groups, counselling, mentoring, peer-led support, and employment pathways, the charity helps women rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose.

Despite common assumptions, women are not the minority in England's homelessness crisis.

Rather, women represent around 60 percent of adults living in temporary accommodation or experiencing hidden homelessness.

The Esther Project exists to change this narrative.

The skydiving event brought together support from a range of local businesses and community groups, including Esque Beauty, The Feel-Good Sisterhood, Rugby Street Pastors, among others, highlighting strong community backing of the mission.

A particularly powerful moment of the weekend came from four residents of Esther House and our drop-in group who, thanks to sponsorships from local supporters Lara Smart and Anne Stokes, were able to take part in the jump.

These courageous women have faced immense challenges in their lives, and this symbolic leap of faith carried an even deeper message of resilience and hope.

One of the brave Esther residents who took part in the skydive shared:  "I am doing the jump because The Esther Project has given me the belief in myself that I can do things I thought I couldn't do. I was also inspired to do it by my friends who I live with at Esther House. We are all working hard on overcoming adversity, and it's important to support each other.

"As one of the girls said, 'if we can do this... we can do anything..'

"When I came to the Esther Project, I had no belief in myself or the world around me.

"The team at The Esther Project have transformed my life. I am starting to believe in myself, be happy again and to have hope. I am starting to build a life I never thought I would have. The Esther Project has simply saved my life."

At the time of writing, the fundraising total, including online and offline donations, stands at £7,850, just shy of the £10,000 target.

Donations are still being accepted, and contributions will help expand support services and reach more women in need.
