By Nadia Sayed 27th Jan 2026
Police have successfully retrieved a Fiat 500 that was reported stolen from Leamington Spa.
Officers from the Operational Patrol Unit of Warwickshire Police stopped the stolen vehicle on the A429 between Barford and Wellesbourne this morning (27 January).
The car, using fake number plates, was observed by OPU officers, prompting an immediate attempt by the driver to avoid police.
The pursuit led officers into the centre of Wellesbourne.
However, due to it becoming dangerous, police abandoned the chase.
The vehicle was subsequently found abandoned and unattended on the A429, near Baker Drive.
Despite efforts, the occupants of the car have not been located.
The Operational Patrol Unit has since recovered the vehicle for a comprehensive forensic examination.
