Local group makes clear mission to 'make Leamington litter, and graffiti-free'
By Nadia Sayed 27th Jan 2026
Since relaunching operations in October 2025, a local volunteer group, has hit the ground running in its mission to make Leamington litter, and graffiti-free.
The dedicated group, Leam Trash Friends, has already delivered striking results across the town including:
- 101 graffiti tags removed from public spaces
- 191 sacks of litter collected and disposed of responsibly
- 31 bin tops deep-cleaned of unsightly vape litter
- Four emergency help points refreshed and revitalised
- 43 needles safely removed to protect residents and wildlife
These impressive figures highlight the scale of the challenge – and the power of community action – in under four months.
To build on this momentum, Leam Trash Friends is launching its Spring Clean series, inviting residents, local businesses, and organisations to get involved and help keep Royal Leamington Spa shining.
The team has announced a list of upcoming community clean-up events, all taking place from 10am to 12noon (unless stated otherwise).
These include:
- 14 February – North Leamington, starting at St Mark's Church, CV32 6DL
- 21 February – Sydenham area, meeting at Asda
- 28 February – Meeting at Morrisons
- 7 March – Leamington Town Hall
Volunteers are provided gloves, bags, and tools, participants just need to bring enthusiasm, sturdy footwear, and a willingness to make a visible difference.
Leam Trash Friends is also appealing directly to local businesses which can sponsor the effort by sending staff to join a session, donating supplies (litter pickers, graffiti remover, bags, gloves), or simply committing to keeping the immediate vicinity of your premises tidy and welcoming.
A spokesperson for Leam Trash Friends."Every tag removed, every sack collected, and every needle safely cleared makes Leamington safer, prouder, and more beautiful.
"We relaunched because our town deserves better – and with community and business support, we can achieve a truly litter- and graffiti-free Leamington this spring."
