1. Sunday Jamming Session

Windmill Hill Brewery and Taproom is hosting a Sunday Jamming session on the first Sunday of every month.

This December, the session will be held this Sunday (7) from 4pm to 7pm at the taproom.

This is an open invitation to local musicians and singers to come and play with Windmill Hill Brewery's house band, Crushed Velvet.

Music lovers from the general public can come and listen too, with a locally crafted beer in hand.

The Windmill Hill team shared: "We hope this community will develop, so that on the first Sunday of every month, we will host a jamming session in our Taproom."

2. Dancing at Lughnasa at Leamington's Loft Theatre

Leamington's Loft Theatre is rounding off another year of superb local theatre with a production of Brian's Friel's award winning play Dancing at Lughnasa, which runs from Wednesday 3 to Saturday 13 December.

Regarded as one of Ireland's most beloved and powerful plays, it was also adapted into a film, starring Meryl Streep, in 1998.

As with many of Friel's works, Dancing at Lughnasa is set in his fictional creation: the little Donegal town of Ballybeg.

However, the play is also semi-autobiographical, being loosely based on the lives of his mother and aunts.

Director, Tom O' Connor, describes the production as "Powerful, dramatic and fun filled; full of life's emotions, laughter and tears. It invokes a time where things and life seemed simple but were really not, a time where music flowed and feet danced, a time where change was only a heartbeat away."

3. Smith Street Christmas Market

Nearby in Warwick, the launch of a brand-new festive event The Smith Street Christmas Market is taking place on Saturday 6 December 2025.

It will run from 10am to 5pm, with the market transforming Smith Street into a magical, traffic-free winter wonderland filled with independent stalls, festive food and drink, music, and family-friendly activities.

Organised by CJ's Events Warwickshire in collaboration with the independent businesses of Smith Street, the event will also form part of the nationwide Small Business Saturday celebrations, championing the importance of shopping local and supporting small businesses in the run-up to Christmas.

Hannah, a local business owner and one of the event organisers said: "The Smith Street Summer Party has become a highlight of Warwick's calendar, bringing an estimated 5,000–7,000 people to the street in a single day.

"We wanted to carry that same community energy into the festive season — giving people another reason to visit, shop local, and experience the magic of Smith Street at Christmas."
