Here are our top picks for September:

1. Banff Mountain Film Festival

The Banff Mountain Film Festival (Blue Film Programme) is set to feature a thrilling selection of films from the most captivating places on earth!

The Banff Mountain Film Festival is back with a brand-new line-up of captivating short films packed with extreme journeys, intriguing characters and stunning cinematography.

Organisers shared: "Join the world's top outdoor filmmakers and adventurers as they climb, ski, paddle, run and ride through the wildest corners of the planet!"

The films start at 7.30pm on 18 September.

Two entirely different film programmes will be featured in Leamington on the 2026 Banff Tour - the RED and BLUE programmes.

The Red Film Programme will be shown on 20 February, and the Blue Film Programme will be shown on 18 September.

2. Live blues band

Temperance bar is set to host an evening of live blues music this Saturday (19).

The Whisky Flowers will bring together a diverse blend of musical styles, with a powerful mix of Blues, Rock, Americana and a splash of Indie-Punk attitude.

The event will take place from 7pm to 11pm.

Organisers shared: "Founded by seasoned musicians Aiden Pryor and Steph Ashcroft and with Ben Hart on drums and Elliot Clark on Bass this unique collaboration thrives on strong vocal harmonies, blistering guitar and a sound unlike anything else out there.

"Another cracking blues band are heading our way! They were brilliant at Tenby last year and we can't wait for their debut gig here!

"By popular demand, we are very excited to welcome The Whisky Flowers to perform their debut gig at Temperance. Lots our regulars saw them at Tenby last year and said that they were the stars of the festival.

3. Dragon Boat Race

Nearby, in Warwick, the Dragon Boat Race returns this weekend.

This year's event will take place at St Nicholas Park in Warwick from 10am on Saturday 19 September.

Members of Leamington-based financial firm, Simpson Financial Services (SFS) will be amongst those battling out in the water, all for a great cause.

SFS is raising money for two charities, The Myton Hospices and Birmingham Children's Hospital and Charity.
