It was a fantastic turnout for Simpson Financial Services' (SFS) annual lawn charity bowls event.

The day brought together clients and staff at Avenue Bowls in Leamington Spa, all with the shared goal of raising money for local charity Helping Hands.

The event, held on Thursday (3 July), began with a relaxed lunch, giving attendees the chance to mingle before heading to the green in their bowls teams.

Rob Simpson, Managing Director and Independent Financial Adviser at SFS, said: "It's a good team-building event and it's great for clients of ours to see that we're human, especially in this sort of era of online meetings.

"We also raise money for a really great local charity."

He continued: "Anything that we can do to help and raise money for charity, and just have some good fun at the same time, we try to do.

"I think it's important, especially as the world needs a little bit of love at the moment."

In total, £630 was raised for Helping Hands, and all of the leftover lunch food was donated to the charity's soup kitchen for distribution that evening.

Fundraising and Communications Coordinator at Helping Hands, Jacqui Grove, shared: "Simpson, to my knowledge, has been a supporter of Helping Hands for quite a few years now.

"I'm sure that they support multiple nonprofit organisations.

"All funds raised today will be used across our core services unless anyone specifies otherwise.

"Our fundraising total at Helping Hands is a fairly significant one, broken up across corporate communities and places of faith and regular donors, so we've got a fair bit of work to do.

"I think my mission this year is to make sure that everybody in Leamington knows about Helping Hands."
