New pedestrian crossings are set for Leamington.

Over the next three weeks, new raised pedestrian refuge crossings are being installed by the mini-roundabout at Avenue Road and Adelaide Road.

Motorists are encourage to allow extra time for journeys, as four-way traffic lights will be in operation off-peak only.

The closure will be in place from 19 to 30 January.

In the planning proposals WCC said: "The raised humps will help improve the environment for residents, pedestrians and cyclists by restricting vehicle speeds and improving road safety."

The plans were first revealed back in June (2025).

It was also stated that the humps will "improve access from existing student accommodation at the back of Station Approach in Leamington Town Centre.

"The pedestrian refuges located in the middle of the raised humps will be used by pedestrians so that they can cross Avenue Road (east of its junction with Station Approach) and Adelaide Road safely in two halves, avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road at all times."

Another improved crossing is also planned further west near Victoria Street, though this hasn't yet been scheduled.
