A prolific shoplifter known for targeting shops in Warwick and Leamington has been jailed with 15 counts of theft.
John Williams, aged 36, was jailed for 26 weeks after being caught stealing from the shops on CCTV camera .
Williams, who pleaded guilty at Coventry Magistrates Court on 30 September, was found guilty of stealing a total of £1,500 worth of products.
He has also been given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CB0), which will last for five years.
The CBO states that Williams is not allowed to attend any Sainsbury's or Marks and Spencers in Warwickshire, or the BP Garage at Guys Cliffe.
It also prevents him from entering any shop in Warwickshire with a face covering, mask, or hood, or carrying any bag or box not purchased in the shop.
All 15 thefts took place between 13 July and 22 September 2026.
Twelve of the offences were at a petrol station in Guys Cliffe, one was at a supermarket in Shires Retail Park, and the other two were at supermarkets in Warwick – one on Emscote Road, and the other on Coten End.
Investigating officer PC Latham said: "The targeting of supermarkets and other shops in Warwickshire by thieves isn't something that we take lightly.
"The use of Criminal Behaviour Orders, like the one imposed on Williams, allows us to take more robust action going forward to dissuade shoplifters from continuing their behaviour, including prison sentences, fines, and community orders."
