Plans to convert former Argos store in Leamington to become children’s play area granted

Plans to convert a previously occupied retail space into a children's play facility in Leamington have received approval.
The planning application sought permission to repurpose a former Argos store into a children's 'stay and play' area.
The proposal has now been approved by Warwick District Council and centres around the unused site on Guy Street in Leamington.
The plan includes the addition of a coffee bar on the ground floor, alongside a meeting and community space.
The structure is currently described as being in a deteriorated condition, following its prior function as an Argos retail store.
The plans were submitted by Mosaic Church, which has a membership of over 700 people.

The plans recieved two objections from the public, including concerns over the proposed community use and impact on parking, particularly on public car parks.
However, the plans were given the green light by WDC, which concluded: "The proposed change of use is considered to be acceptable in principle, and would not conflict with any relevant local, neighbourhood or national planning policies.
"The application is therefore recommended for approval"
The full plans can be found here.
