Plans revealed for former Argos store in Leamington to become children’s play area

Plans to change the use of a former Argos store to a children's 'stay and play' facility in Leamington Spa have been submitted for approval.
The plans for the currently vacant site on Guy Street in Leamington Spa include developing a coffee bar at the ground floor and a meeting and community space.
The building is described as being in a "poor" state, since its previous retail store use was Argos.
The plans were submitted by Mosaic Church, a well-established organisation with a membership of over 700 people.

Mosaic Church have played a leading role in delivering foodbank, mentoring, one-to-one support, housing, children's and youth services for immigrants from around the world, including Ukraine, and for caring for some of the poorest in society.
The planning application states the proposed changes would be internal refurbishments only, with no change to external elevations and no new external equipment.

The applicant stated: "The proposals will have a neutral impact on the conservation area, with no loss of character or significance, but with certainty of building maintenance and activity."
Warwick District Council Conservation team stated it has "no objection to this application."
