New baby memorial garden to open in Leamington
By Nyasha Dombojena 22nd Apr 2026
The Warwick District Council's Bereavement Services Team are holding an open day at a Leamington crematorium for its new baby memorial garden.
The open day at the Oakley Wood Crematorium will be held on Saturday 9 May from 10am to 1pm, to celebrate the opening of the Little Oaks Baby Memorial Garden at the crematorium, which will be a 'tranquil and peaceful space dedicated for babies and infants, and for their families to have somewhere to sit and remember them.'
Visitors will be able to paint a memory stone that they can leave in the garden or take home with them. The Memorial Garden will be opened at 11am.
Visitors will also be able to take a behind the scenes tour of the crematorium to understand more about how the team provides care and attention for loved ones. The tours will take place every hour from 10.15am to 12.15pm.
Cllr Will Roberts, Portfolio Holder for neighbourhood, called it "a unique opportunity to learn more about the work of our Bereavement Services team", and noted that they "work so hard to provide a caring, professional service for families and loved ones at such a difficult time".
