Council planners have given the go-ahead for a Leamington office building to be turned into six flats.

The decision for Concorde House comes in the face of 14 objections from residents.

Greenbull Limited's plans for the Warwick New Road building drew concerns from neighbours who were worried the building will be used as an HMO. Objections also included fears about more traffic and harm to the conservation area.

However, planners at Warwick District Council said the plans were acceptable and prior approval for the works was approved.

"I am satisfied that this development would not introduce a residential development into an inappropriate area of industrial activities," a council report said.

The building is currently on the market with local agent EHB Reeves for £1,350,000.

The applications said: "The property is used as an office which does not make a noticeable contribution to the sustainability of the conservation area.

"The main commercial parts of the Royal Leamington Spa Conservation Area are located within the centre of Leamington Spa – a significant distance away from the site."
