This week, Leamington locals will head to the polls to vote in their new councillors for Warwickshire County Council.

All 57 wards at the local authority are up for grabs, with voting opening on Thursday 1 May.

Results will then be announced on Friday 2 May, including all Leamington Spa wards.

We have asked each candidate why locals should trust them with their vote.

This is what the candidates for Leamington North said:

Adam Allan - Reform UK

Adam Allan, the Reform UK candidate for Leamington North in the Warwickshire County elections on 1 May 2025, is a Christian husband and father of two.

Raised on a council estate by a single mother, he developed resilience and a strong work ethic. With a degree and experience running a small business, he understands local economic challenges and the pressures on policing and healthcare through his relatives' service.

Allan criticises the council for mismanaging education, roads, social care, and public safety, resulting in potholed roads, anti-social behaviour, and limited youth opportunities despite rising taxes.

If elected, Adam Allan pledges to deliver value through improved roads, youth facilities, and robust social care for the elderly via smarter budgeting, championing Reform UK's focus on results.

Sarah Boad - Liberal Democrats

Sarah has been a Councillor in North Leamington for 38 years, 30 years as a county councillor.

She is deputy leader of the Liberal Democrat Group.

Sarah is a Chartered Engineer.

If re-elected, Sarah's priorities will be working to improve the way potholes and other defects are dealt with, improving services for children with SEND, reducing speeding traffic and continuing her campaign to improve bus services locally.

As local government in Warwickshire faces huge change due to the Labour Government's reorganisation plans, Leamington North needs a strong, experienced local voice to get the best for our area.

Sarah Boad - Liberal Democrats

Jane Knight - Labour

I hope you will consider voting for me as your county councillor.

I served for 16 years as a district councillor for Brunswick Ward and later in Clarendon Ward.

I was also chair of the district council.

With all this experience, and having worked closely with officers and members of the county council, I am willing and able to serve the residents of Leamington North, and to make the county recognise and respond to your needs, especially those of early year's children.

Jane Knight - Labour

Lucy Marshall - Conservatives

Since starting my History and Politics degree at the University of Warwick my interest and involvement in politics has increased massively, particularly since I now live in Leamington - very different to my hometown in Cornwall!

I have learnt a huge amount about politics on both a local and national level and how important strong representation on our council is.

I want to be that voice for Leamington North  to ensure Leamington residents are clearly heard.

I am keen to get stuck in, to enhance our schools, help our businesses thrive, tackle anti-social behaviour in our parks.

Vote for me on 1 May.

Lucy Marshall - Conservatives

Angela Smith - Green

I'm standing because I want a strong Green voice for our area.

Existing Green councillors across Warwick district have worked hard for their area and successfully challenged the county council.

In the last six months alone they've stopped the Conservatives cutting youth clubs and library opening hours.

Working with others, they've also increased fly-tipping enforcement and collection, added more funds to tackle antisocial behaviour and introduced soft plastics recycling.

Join so many people who are turning away from Labour and Conservative and looking for a positive option who will stand up for our area. Please vote Green on May 1.

Angela Smith - Green
