This week, Leamington locals will head to the polls to vote in their new councillors for Warwickshire County Council.

All 57 wards at the local authority are up for grabs, with voting opening on Thursday 1 May.

Results will then be announced on Friday 2 May, including all Leamington Spa wards.

We have asked each candidate why locals should trust them with their vote.

This is what the candidates for Leamington Brunswick said:

Jack Alexander - Conservative

My name's Jack, and I'm standing as your local Conservative Party candidate for the county council ward of Brunswick.

Having been a student at the University of Warwick for the last couple of years, I have been lucky enough to not only live in Leamington – with all its fantastic shops, places to eat, and parks to enjoy – but also to develop a real passion for local politics.

Problems surrounding transport accessibility and anti-social behaviour are both key challenges facing this ward and are issues that would be a high priority of mine.

As your county councillor I would work to protect this town, but ensure Leamington continues to thrive and develop too.

Jack Alexander - Conservative

Perjit Aujla - Liberal Democrats

Perjit grew up in Warwickshire and lives in Leamington Spa with her young family.

She works in the West Midlands television industry, making programming for the BBC and Channel 4.

Perjit is passionate about representation, supporting and promoting diverse off-screen talent and acting as a professional mentor to underrepresented groups in television.

If elected, Perjit will work with the diverse local communities in Brunswick to ensure a breadth of voices and opinions are represented at the county council.

Perjit Aujla - Liberal Democrats

Jonathan Chilvers - Green

I've worked consistently hard for our area since 2010, solving hundreds of issues for residents, for instance helping secure £10000 investment in Eagle Rec.

Working with others the Greens have also increased fly-tipping enforcement and collection, found funding for Community Wardens and introduced soft plastics recycling.

I've lived just off Brunswick Street since 2007 with my family.

If you see me do stop and say hello.

I have the track record and experience to do more for our local area and challenge the council if you choose to elect me again this time on 1 May.

Jonathan Chilvers - Green

Chris Knight - Labour

I have lived in Leamington for over 26 years and have settled here with my wife and two children.

I bring a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for serving our community.

With over a decade of experience in the criminal justice system, I have developed a strong understanding of the challenges that affect our daily lives and the skills necessary to tackle them.

My priority is ensuring law and order is returned to our streets; it is essential to creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

I have been listening to your concerns and these have become my focus.

I'm arranging a meeting with the council to discuss the concerns about county line drugs.

I believe in the power of community so I will work with you to shape the future of Brunswick.

Chris Knight - Labour

Ethan Liddel - Reform

Ethan Liddell, the Reform UK candidate for Leamington Brunswick in the Warwickshire County elections on 1 May 2025, is a former Shipston-on-Stour councillor with a political science and international relations degree.

A practising Christian, teetotaller, and runner, he is shaped by his Youth Parliament experience and global travels.

Criticising council inefficiencies, he highlights Brunswick's potholes, lack of youth opportunities, and faltering services.

Having left the Conservatives, Liddell aims to deliver smarter spending with Reform UK, restoring roads, creating youth initiatives, strengthening social care.

If elected, he will prioritise results-driven public service.
