Mayor launches Leamington in Bloom’s floral trains with judging set to begin in July 2025

The Mayor of Leamington Spa, Councillor Ruggy Singh, officially launched the floral trains outside the Glasshouse in Jephson Gardens, marking the start of the judging for the town's parks, gardens, green spaces, and floral displays, Leamington in Bloom.
The organisers are aiming for gold again this year, striving to achieve an eighth consecutive Gold Award in the small city category.
Throughout the summer, visitors can spot these charming trains, with one located at Jephson Gardens outside the Riverside Glasshouse and another on a platform at Leamington Railway Station.
The tradition of the geranium trains began in 2003 when the Chairman of Leamington in Bloom teamed up with the B&Q store to create the first floral train.
Mayor Cllr Ruggy Singh said: "It's wonderful to see so many people coming together to make Royal Leamington Spa such a vibrant and welcoming place.
"From local groups and schools to volunteers, their hard work helps our town flourish year after year. We are hopeful of achieving our eighth consecutive Gold Award this year."
Thanks to the dedication of the Leamington in Bloom Committee and volunteers from local schools and care homes, the trains are bursting with striking blooms grown from plug plants that have been nurtured for this display.
Each year, Leamington in Bloom delivers key projects such as the floral train displays at Jephson Gardens and Leamington Railway Station and runs an annual photographic competition, with winning entries featured in the Leamington in Bloom calendar.
The project is also supported by Royal Leamington Spa Town Council and Warwick District Council.
Judges from the prestigious RHS Heart of England in Bloom competition will be in town on Thursday 3 of July for their annual tour of Leamington.
The results of Leamington in Bloom will be announced in September.
