Man charged with multiple offence including assaulting police officers and criminal damage in Leamington

A man has been arrested and charged with multiple offences including assaulting police officers and causing criminal damage in Leamington.
Officers from Leamington Safer Neighbourhood Team spotted the three males on the evening of last night (Monday 20 October) where they were seen to be harassing women at Dormer Place.
Two of these individuals were detained for further inquiry.
One of the men provided his details and cooperated with the authorities, while the other refused and was subsequently arrested.
Upon his arrest, cannabis was discovered in his possession.
During the arrest process, the male perpetrator assaulted two officers, kneeing one and making attempts to kick and unbalance the other.
Due to his continued resistance, officers restrained him before escorting him to custody.
Once in custody, the individual further assaulted a detention officer and inflicted criminal damage to a cell.
Today, the individual has been officially charged with multiple offences, including:
- Assaulting police officers (two counts)
- Assaulting an emergency worker
- Possession of cannabis
- Criminal damage
Leamington Police shared: "The Patrol Investigation Unit (PIU) has been pivotal in addressing this incident.
"Our officers acted promptly to ensure the protection of the public, particularly the women who were targeted.
"We continue to be fully committed to addressing Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and to ensuring that our communities remain safe and respectful places for all individuals."
