A man remains in custody after allegedly stealing hundreds of pounds of alcohol from Leamington Spa's M&S on Parade.

Officers from Leamington Safer Neighbourhood Team said he will be interviewed soon and further updates will be provided.

A force statement said: "Not long after booking on duty officers from Leamington SNT were made aware of a theft of what was suspected to be hundreds of pounds worth alcohol from Marks & Spencer on Parade in Leamington.

"PC Morton an PC Lake leaped into action and about 25 minutes after heading out into the town one person was in custody and he is currently contemplating his life decisions in one of our cells.

"Speedy work, if we do say so ourselves."
