A local cricket club near Leamington, is set to celebrate its 90th anniversary this June.
Hunningham Cricket Club which is located just east of Cubbington, is planning to host a day of celebrations on Sunday 28 June with all welcome to join in with fete games, watching some cricket, and eating some cake.
But it is not just the anniversary that Hunningham are celebrating...
After competing in men's cricket for the entirety of their history, the club has now entered the realm of women's cricket for the first time this year.
The club has had great engagement in their women's programme with participants ranging grom age 12 to over 60.
On Sunday 7 June the club hosted a women's soft ball cricket festival, in partnership with the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation, where they were able to field not just one, but two full women's sides.
Harry, the club's Women and Girl's Cricket Co-Ordinator shared: "This is another huge step in our women and girls cricketing journey and we're determined to keep progressing. We want to be a club with a reputation for delivering high quality experiences for women and girls, whether that's social cricket, or coaching for those who want to progress."
Women's cricket will form the focus of their 90th anniversary celebrations as the day kicks off with a friendly match against Coventry West Indian Wanderers.
"We're going to be here for another 90 years and women and girl's cricket is going to be a huge part of that!" added Harry.
Hunningham Cricket Club's 90th anniversary starts at 11am and throughout the afternoon on Sunday 28 June, at their ground next door to the Red Lion Pub.
