Leamington Spa has been voted the second best place to live in Warwickshire, by readers of online lifestyle guide Muddy Stilettos.

The result sees the town knocked off its top spot by last year's runners up, Warwick.

Nationally, Dursley in Gloucestershire has been voted the best place to live.

Voting took place this summer, with readers able to back their town to be ranked the best.

On Leamington, the guide said: "Known as Silicon Spa, Leamington is a global gaming cluster with around 32 video gaming companies, including some of the biggest names. 

"It's a compact but alluring historic spa town with grand Regency architecture – particularly The Parade, Clarendon Square and Lansdowne Circus – and lovely parks which run along the River Leam. 

"A popular Warwick University student hangout, there are laid-back coffee shops aplenty, cocktail bars with live music and some awesome eateries."
