Leamington PC recognised in King’s Honours Lists
By James Smith 15th Jun 2026
A police constable from Leamington Spa has been recognised in the King's Birthdays Honours List.
The full list was released over the weekend, with multiple Warwickshire residents receiving honours.
This includes Scott Caswell who has been given a BEM (British Empire Medal) for his "for services to policing and to veterans".
Warwickshire Police said it was "proud" of PC Caswell who they described as "one of our most recognisable public faces at Warwickshire Police" due to his annual fundraising challenges.
In one such challenge in May, he ran a series of five 40-mile ultra-marathons over five days (not counting the cycling alongside the 40 miles of running) to raise money for Veterans Contact Point and Veterans Support.
In his role as Armed Forces Lead, he has been "instrumental in implementing the Forcer Protocol" at Warwickshire Police, which introduces control room processes to improve our responses to current or ex-serving military personnel who are at risk or go missing.
Before he joined the police, PC Caswell had a military career that encompassed deployments in Northern Ireland and in Former Yugoslavia.
Acting Chief Constable David Gardner said: "The sheer amount of work that PC Scott Caswell has done during his career in the support of veterans both inside and outside the force is beyond impressive, and we're so proud and pleased that he has been awarded the British Empire Medal.
"On top of his day job serving and protecting the people of Warwickshire, he's been a key figure in improving how we support veterans and reservists inside and outside the force, and we're grateful for his continued drive in this area."
Elsewhere in the district, Professor Glen Warren Burley has been given a knighthood for services to the NHS. He is chief executive of The Foundation Group and deputy chief executive of NHS England.
