A mini market in Leamington has been secured and closed after reports of illegal vape sales, antisocial behaviour and the exploitation of children and young people.

Mars Mini Market on Clemens Street was successfully secured by the Warwick District Council's Community Safety Team following a full closure order.

The order was granted by Coventry Magistrates' Court on Friday, 30 May, following serious concerns from the community and partners regarding the store's activity.

In a post shared on Facebook, Warwick District Council's Community Safety Team wrote: "Working in close partnership with Warwickshire Police and Warwickshire Trading Standards, we took decisive action to prevent further harm from taking place.

"The Community Safety Team would like to express our sincere thanks to the community for providing vital intelligence that supported us throughout this process.

"Your information made a significant difference and directly contributed to the success of this case."

The team further encouraged individuals to continue reporting this type of behaviour, so swift response and firm action can be taken against any other businesses operating similarly.

A list of contacts for reporting crime and concerns is available on the WDC's Community Safety Facebook.
