Leamington Market to stop for 'comprehensive review'
By James Smith 21st May 2026
Leamington Market will stop at the end of May for a "temporary break," operator CJ's Events Warwickshire has confirmed.
The business and Warwick District Council will use the "pause" to "conduct a comprehensive review of the market's operations".
CJ's says it is "committed to returning" to the Holly Walk Friday markets.
The news comes after a forum was launched to help inject new ideas into local markets.
CJ's said in a statement: "Since its relaunch in August 2025, the market initially saw strong stall numbers.
"However, these have unfortunately declined over the winter period, making it challenging to regain momentum, particularly with reduced stall numbers and footfall.
"This upcoming break provides a opportunity to gather valuable feedback, carry out a thorough review, and develop a robust plan for the market's future."
"We'll be gathering feedback over the coming weeks and will provide updates where possible. We remain committed to returning; however, we need to ensure the market continues to be a positive and successful experience for both ourselves and our traders.
"We'd like to say a huge thank you for your support with this market, and we hope to welcome you back to Holly Walk again soon!"
