Leamington locals step up for Earth Day 2026
By Nyasha Dombojena 23rd Apr 2026
The Leamington community is helping to better the area one step at a time, coinciding with Earth Day, which fell on 22 April this year.
It's easy to forget a national day such as this, as it's not as widely celebrated as other holidays.
But, a group in Leamington are reminding the local area that every day could be Earth Day, with the right steps.
ARC (Achieving Results in Communities) is a local non-profit organisation dedicated to improving mental and physical wellbeing and improving community cohesion through nature-based activities.
It's latest addition to society has been a garden that they've been working on in Lillington.

The group encourages locals in Leamington and Warwick to pop in and help save the planet one small step at a time, by cleaning litter and planting trees around the area.
ARC's Director and Manager, Kath, has been part of the organisation since 2012, and believes that bringing the community together can not only brighten the area, but encourage the local residents to engage with each other and bond also.

Speaking to Nub News, Action 21, a volunteer-based charity that aims to reduce environmental impact of Leamington and Warwick communities further said: "Earth Day reminds us that real change comes from consistent, collective action. Together, through sustainability, education and community, we can continue building a better future.
"This year marks 30 years of Action 21, made possible by the dedication of our volunteers and trustees past and present, and the continued support of our local community."

The desire for a greener future can bring all of us together.
Whether it's by joining a local climate group or simply making sustainable swaps at the shops, the power to change Leamington's environment is in the hands of the local community.
