Chris Knight will be a councillor after Labour won the Leamington Clarendon ward by-election.

Results were announced by Warwick District Council today (September 19), with Cllr Knight taking 574 votes.

The Liberal Democrats Raina Deo (Lib Dem) came second with 561 votes, followed by Nigel Clarke of Reform UK with 309 votes.

The election was called following the resignation of Labour's Helen Adkins , who criticised the leadership culture at the local authority when she stepped down.

The turnout in Leamington Clarendon was just 25.16 percent and there were 1902 ballot papers.
