A bank branch which is set to close its Leamington site is preparing to remove its branding and signage.

Plans have been submitted for decommissioning works at the Halifax bank branch on Parade, including the removal of modern signage, fascia panels, projecting signs and other branded elements attached to the building's façade, as well as the external ATM.

It comes after Halifax bank announced several closures including its Leamington site, citing a significant shift in customer banking habits towards digital services.

According to the design statement no historic architectural features will be removed.

The statement also comments: "Repair of all fixing holes and disturbed external surfaces using appropriate fillers and finishes to match the existing materials.

"All making-good works will be undertaken using materials that are visually and physically compatible with the existing building fabric."

The Halifax branch on Parade is set to close on 20 October 2026, according to a closure notice issued by the bank.

Customers will still be able to use the nearby Lloyds branch at 73 Parade, which offers counter services, cash machines and self-service banking facilities.
