A chain with a store in Leamington Spa has entered administration today (January 6).

The announcement was made for jewellery retailer Claire's - which has a unit in the Royal Priors - as well as The Original Factory Shop.

Modella Capital - which owns both - has put the chains into insolvency proceedings as it hopes to get breathing space to find a buyer.

Claire's has 154 stores and 1,355 staff nationwide.

Modella only bought Claire's in September and discount store The Original Factory Shop since early 2025.

"This has been a very tough decision," said Modella.

"We have worked intensively in an effort to save both businesses, having made last-ditch attempts to rescue them, but neither has a realistic possibility of trading profitably again."

The Original Factory Shop has 140 stores and 1,220 staff nationwide.
