'Home is where the art is': New display added to Leamington's Art Box

A new display has been added to Leamington's Art Box.
A fabulous dress created by textile students at Leamington's Kingsley School in the town is currently on display in Art Box.
The pupils repurposed vintage tea towels to construct a vibrant, layered dress that celebrates colour, memory and domestic life.
Originally created as part of the Warwick Schools Foundation Home Festival, the gown was designed in response to the theme Home.
Now in year 11, pupils Georgia and Katie, who were both involved in the project visited the exhibition earlier this month to admire their work, which is being shared with the wider community.
Chair of the Friends, Alison Chantrey, said: "We're so pleased to welcome Kingsley School back to Art Box, 5 years after they provided the inaugural exhibition. Their eye-catching dress demonstrates such skill, imagination and creativity and we're honoured that they're sharing this with us."

You can find ArtBox on Clarendon Avenue at the edge of Christchurch Gardens, known to many as Top Park.
The exhibition is open 24/7, 365 and will run until mid March.
Art Box is owned by Royal Leamington Spa Town Council and managed by Friends of Christchurch Gardens.
It is available, free of charge, for community or school exhibitions. Contact [email protected] to enquire about availability. For news on Art Box exhibitions, follow @artboxleam on Facebook.
