This weekend (1 to 2 August) marked the return of Leamington's popular art festival - Art in the Park and the town's debut Book Extravaganza.

Now in its 13th year, the free-to-attend festival spanned across Jephson and Mill Gardens.

This year's theme was titled "Pathways" inviting attendees to reflect on 'the winding course of fate and circumstance' that brought them to the event

More than 200 arts-based businesses participated in the festival, presenting a diverse array of creative works ranging from ceramics and glass blowing to fine art and beyond.

Attendees also had the opportunity to explore the Pangaea Sculptors' Centre, which featured a mobile sculpting studio, while others enjoyed activities such as face painting, henna tattoos, engaging street art presented by Brink, and dynamic DJ workshops hosted by New Future Creatives.

This year's festival also offered a series of theatre workshops at Glasshouse throughout the day, ending with Salsa classes in the evening.

In addition to the stalls, local businesses such as Windmill Hill Brewery were on hand serving food and drink across the weekend.

Now a staple across the Midlands, the free event features over 50 stalls each day, showcasing the works of independent publishers, authors, bookshops, antiquarian booksellers, and creators. Visitors could also browse a wide array of book-inspired gifts and stationery.

Visitors were encouraged to make a weekend of the experience, as many of the authors, exhibitors, and traders varied from Saturday to Sunday, providing ample opportunities for new discoveries throughout both days.

Prior to the event, organiser Dexter O'Neill shared: "We're delighted to be bringing the Book Extravaganza to the Royal Pump Rooms.

"The event has built a fantastic following across the region and this beautiful venue makes a wonderful setting for its Leamington Spa debut."
