Council proposes new road humps to tackle traffic on busy road in Whitnash
By Nadia Sayed 19th Feb 2026
Warwickshire County Council has announced a proposal to install five new road humps on a busy road road in Whitnash.
The humps, set to be designed as tapered flat-top structures, are set to be added to Golf Lane in the town.
They come in response to concerns raised by a local councillor, following community consultations.
Discussions with residents have highlighted the dangers posed by the high speeds of vehicles on Golf Lane, attributed to its long and straight nature.

Therefore, the proposed measures aim to reduce vehicle speeds and enhance safety for pedestrians and other vulnerable road users and will be financed through the councillor's delegated ward budget for Whitnash.
A road safety audit has been completed to accompany this proposal, and Warwickshire County Council confirms that all recommendations from the Traffic and Road Safety Team have been thoroughly addressed.

The five proposed locations for the installation of the road humps are:
1. Outside No. 3 Golf Lane
2. Outside No. 29 Golf Lane
3. Outside No. 47 Golf Lane
4. Outside No. 58 Golf Lane
5. Between Nos. 91 and 93 Golf Lane
