An American fried chicken eatery has confirmed its Leamington branch will not reopen after closing over Christmas.

Yardbirds, which opened last year (2025) on Warwick Street in the town, confirmed last week that its Leamington branch is now closed.

Known for its seasoned, crispy fried chicken and family friendly atmosphere, Yardbirds began its journey on Birmingham's Street food scene, serving up fried chicken at events, festivals and private parties across the country.

In a message shared on social media, the Yardbirds team said: "We gave it our all and are leaving with full hearts, lots of happy memories, and plenty of lessons learned along the way.

"Running a small business isn't always easy, but we're proud of what we built here and grateful for the journey."

They went on to note thank the Leamington community for "every visit, every kind word, and every takeaway" and highlighted the team's achievements and hard work.

Yardbird's first restaurant in Stirchley, Birmingham will however remain open.
