Exceptional careers that bring world-renowned vehicles to life start here.This role is responsible for designing and developing JLR Propulsion systems and capabilities in the system engineering function layer at the logical and physical solution domain. You will be responsible for building and owning the generic system artifacts for new and existing Powertrain propulsion concepts, capabilities and features in the (xHEV Diesel/Gasoline) space ensuring they are legally compliant, meets customer attributes expectations and are competitive in the market.WHAT TO EXPECT In this role, no two tasks are the same. - Robust requirements and targets delivered on-cycle to programmes.
- System artifacts (MBSE models, use case analysis, LAD, FFA/DFMEA/DRBFM, DVP, requirements, standards) developed off-cycle and updated on-cycle as required.
- New functions delivered by statement of capability (SOC) and Feature statement of intent (FSOI) process.
- System compatibility Issues identified, reported and efficiently resolved • Ensure functions adherence to the use of specified engineering methods, computer tools and aids applied
- Support Vehicle, domain and any other indirect team members understanding of the integrated propulsion functions.
- Chair technical reviews/forums and resolve complex cross functional issues
- Relevant experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment - ideally within the Automotive Sector
- Relevant experience of working in Propulsion/Powertrain Engineering in one or more area of: Emissions-Aftertreatment/Gas-path, Base engines, 48v and HV Systems/Batteries-Charging, Torque and Energy Arbitration.
- xHEV propulsion system integration.
- Relevant experience of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance
- Experience in applying Systems Engineering and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach
- Relevant experience in development of electrified propulsion system as MHEV, PHEV and/or BEV.
