Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you are responsible for ensuring plant, equipment and premises are in a safe condition and operating effectively. Working to agreed plans on either preventative, planned or breakdowns, thus ensuring safe and efficient operations of the site s facilities.

Maintenance personnel are tasked with the upkeep of grounds, plant, machinery, general infrastructure.

The position requires an individual who enjoys the challenge of troubleshooting and correcting mechanical issues. A willingness to work when and where needed and when emergency maintenance or safety activities are required. This may entail out-of-hours call out working.

Duties

  • Planned, reactive & preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Breakdown repair, installation, rebuild, refurbish, & service
  • Hydraulic maintenance & repairs
  • Basic PLC fault finding
  • Reading & following, mechanical drawings
  • Project work
  • Liaise with departmental supervision to support them in maintenance and safety-related matters
  • When working with maintenance contractors assist in them carrying out their work in a timely, safe and efficient manner
  • Is responsible for supporting all aspects of site safety

The ideal candidate will have:-

  • Preventative maintenance techniques
  • Fault finding
  • Understanding Health and Safety requirements
  • Working on pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Industrial Pipe Fitting experience hot and cold water systems, boilers, Copper and steel / Press fit Pipework and Plumbing
  • Fabrication Experience
  • Working from engineering drawings
  • Welding experience
  • Certified mobile plant driving license e.g. Forklift, MEWP, etc.
  • Woodwork and minor building
  • Air conditioning
  • Setting out works and experience ordering materials.

Required Education:

  • Apprenticeship trained in maintenance or level 3 qualified

Required Experience

Experience in troubleshooting and correcting mechanical problems is essential.

A good knowledge of maintenance methods and equipment to support the Company s manufacturing processes. Previous experience in project planning, although not essential, would be preferred.

Computer literacy is essential.

Good communication skills are essential. The job holder must communicate with all employees at all levels within the Company supporting contractors and external agencies. Proven track record of working well within a maintenance team. Collaborating within a team and with others. Focussing on providing an excellent service for all departments within the company.
