The charity for this year's Leamington Spa Half Marathon is looking for volunteers to help make the event a success.

The event, which takes place on Sunday 15 June, will raise funds for Safeline, a Warwickshire-based charity dedicated to preventing sexual abuse and supporting those affected.

Safeline offers free, specialist, and tailored support to anyone impacted by sexual abuse and rape.

It also runs the National Male Survivor Helpline and a National Telephone and Online Counselling Service for people aged 16+ who were affected by sexual abuse before the age of 18.

In a post shared on Facebook, the charity called for volunteers: "Whether it's handing out water, cheering at cheer stations, or helping with setup, your support helps us stand alongside survivors of sexual abuse and raise vital funds for our services.

"Every role matters. Every voice counts."

Explaining why people should get involved, it wrote: "Make a real difference for a local cause, Be part of an inspiring community event, Get a front-row seat to the race-day action and Meet like-minded people and have fun!"

To become a volunteer, email: [email protected].

This year's half marathon is also supported by Royal Leamington Spa Town Council and is set to feature a vibrant Event Village market run by CJ's Events Warwickshire Limited.
