A three‑month closure order has been granted against a property in Leamington Spa, linked to drugs use and anti‑social behaviour.
The order was granted at Coventry Magistrates Court yesterday morning (30 January) for a property at Newbold Gardens.
A closure order means no one is permitted to enter the property during the closure period, not even the tenant who was removed and will now have to find themselves alternative accommodation.
This followed information linking the address to drug dealing, drug use and anti‑social behaviour.
PC Martin said: "I am pleased that the magistrates agreed that a closure order was indeed necessary and am happy that the local residents will get some much needed respite from the behaviour that has been associated with this address for some time now, this is a good day for the residents of Newbold Gardens and surrounding areas."
Breaching the order is a criminal offence and anyone found in breach can be arrested and face up to 52 weeks' imprisonment.
If individuals suspect an address is being used in relation to county lines drug dealing, drug use or anti-social behaviour report it on 999 in an emergency, 101, online or anonymously via CrimeStoppers.
